Derbyshire public health expert Rosalie has teamed up with EMCAT to push for better, more ethical addiction treatment. With decades of experience tackling drugs, alcohol, and community health issues, she’s all about raising the bar on how people get help for addiction. Since joining Derbyshire County Council back in 2014, she’s taken charge of the Inclusion Health portfolio, which covers everything from mental health and suicide prevention to trauma-informed care, sexual health, and substance use.
Rosalie’s career stretches across national and local probation work, and she’s led a regional drug and alcohol charity as CEO. She’s also been a special advisor to the Health and Social Care Committee, plus she’s completed three terms on the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, the group that reports to the Home Office. Beyond that, she’s helped commissioners in London and the East of England roll out drug and alcohol programs, and she’s still a go-to consultant on policy and commissioning, both in the UK and abroad.
All this fits right in with what EMCAT - the Ethical Marketing Campaign for Addiction Treatment - is trying to do. EMCAT’s out to bring real transparency to addiction treatment marketing, fighting shady practices like patient brokering and other tactics that prey on people when they’re most vulnerable.
Rosalie’s focus on evidence-based care, ethics, and public health lines up perfectly with EMCAT’s mission to call out and stop deceptive marketing in the industry. She brings a sharp policy mind and a strong ethical backbone to the fight for better protections and higher standards for people seeking treatment.
As EMCAT keeps working to shine a light on these issues and build stronger ethical guidelines for the addiction treatment world, Rosalie’s experience will be extremely help on the EMCAT Advisory Board.
